Basic Overview of Data warehouse #DOTC_Mdb

                            Basic Overview of Data warehouse.

Hello Everyone,

Today I will discuss about Data warehouse basic concept and its uses in any organization. Data ware house is huge topic so today I will give you brief idea about data warehouse. Data warehouse usually combines information from several sources into one database.  Data warehouse usually incorporate all the information about any business, including all the information. Data warehousing involves data cleaning, data integration, and data consolidations. By combining all of this information in one place, a company can analyze its customers in a more holistic way, ensuring that it has considered all the information available. Data warehousing also makes data mining possible. There are different ways to establish a data warehouse and many pieces of software that help different systems to upload their data to a data warehouse for analysis. However, the basic idea is to first extract data from all the individual sources, remove redundant data and organize the data into a consistent format that can be queried.

Importance of Data warehouse:

Most of the companies with data warehouses can have an advantage in product development, marketing, pricing strategy, production time, historical analysis, forecasting and customer satisfaction. Data warehouse also very expensive to design and implement. But if you are going to implement data warehouse in organization you will have historical data and you can play with data and also can do the trend analysis for forecasting.  Data Warehouse works as a central repository where information arrives from one or more data sources. Data flows into a data warehouse from the transactional system and other relational databases. Data may be Structured ,Semi-structured and Unstructured data.

Important Note : In Data warehouse data is processed, transformed, and ingested so that users can access the processed data in the Data Warehouse through Business Intelligence(BI) tools, SQL clients, and spreadsheets. A data warehouse merges information coming from different sources into one database.

Data warehouses is kept separate from operational databases due to Operational database

Data warehouses is kept separate from operational databases due to Operational database is constructed for well known tasks and workload such as searching particular record , indexing etc. Data warehouse queries are often complex and they present a general form of data. Operational databases support concurrent processing of multiple transactions. Operational database query allows to read and modify operations, while an OLAP query needs only real only access of stored data. Operational database maintains current data. On the other hand , a data warehouse maintains historical data.

Note : Operational Database only maintain a current data whereas in data warehouse we can able to see historical database data warehouse does not require transaction processing, recovery, and concurrency controls, because it is physically stored and separate from the operational database.. In Banking and Telecom domain data warehouse play important role for creating complex report by using various reporting tool like business object , cognos etc and for mapping they use Informatica . By merging all of this information in one place, an organization can analyze its customers more holistically. It helps to ensure that it has considered all the information available. Data warehousing makes data mining possible. Data mining is looking for patterns in the data that may lead to higher sales and profits.

Datawarehouses implements in field like finacial services,Banking services, chain Management,Retail sector etc .Data warehouse is very huge topic and practically they used several tools to generate historical data report and for mapping and also they used tool like Informatica to simply drag and drop the object and SQL scripts is automatically generated and you can see it in back ground.

Note : To learn Data warehouse we should have good hand’s on experience in RDBMS and SQL query so that it’s easy to understand how to generate historical report from warehouse as we know Operational Database only keep current data , so for historical we need data warehouse . So we should have very clear about DBMS and RDBMS concepts to understand data warehouse.

Please go through this blog carefully and let me know if you have any questions . Since it’s a huge topic so today I only given the overview of Data warehouse. In next blog I will come up with Data warehouse Terminology .

Thanks.

SQL and Classification of SQL in Oracle Database #Diksha Oracle Training Centre

SQL and Classification of SQL in Oracle Database.   SQL is Structured Query Language , which is used for storing, manipulating and retrieving data stored in a relational database .SQL is the standard language for RDBMS. All the Relational Database Management Systems (RDMS) like Oracle, MySQL, Sybase, Informix, IBM DB2 and Microsoft SQL Server use SQL as their standard database language. Oracle is one of the more secured database as compared to other databases. Importance of   SQL : SQL and PL/SQL is a backend process where all data is stored and retrieved in GUI which created either by any programming languages like Java, C++, PHP etc. so we need to have very secure database so that there will be no impact for users. SQL allows users to access data in the relational database management systems. SQL is used to communicate with a database.SQL and PL/SQL allows users to create and drop databases tables , views , stored procedures , functions , packages , trigger et...

Top 50 Interview Questions On SQL and PL/SQL #DOTC_Mdb

Top 50 Interview Questions On SQL and PL/SQL. Today we will Discuss Top 50 interview questions and answers of SQL and PL/SQL which is frequently asked in interview.     Question 1: What is SQL and Classification of SQL? Answer SQL is a Structure Query Language which is vastly used in RDBMS database like Oracle, Sybase, DB2 , Microsoft SQL server etc.   Classification of SQL is as below: DDL (Data Definition Language):  Commands are  create , alter , drop , truncate etc DML (Data Manipulation Language) : Commands are  insert, update and delete . TCL (Transaction Control Language ) : Commands are  Commit , Rollback and Save point. DCL (Data Control Language) : Commands are Grant , Revoke Question 2:    What is meant by Joins? What are the types of join? Answer Joins are basically used to extract/get data from multiple tables using s...

Aggregate Functions and Group By Clause in Oracle with Examples #Diksha Oracle Training Centre

Aggregate Functions and Group By Clause Oracle with Examples.   Hello Everyone, Today I will   discuss about   Aggregate function in SQL by using Group By Clause and different clauses with some examples . Please go tjrough my previous blogs in Archive folder for classification of SQL, Commands and   SQL joins for your understanding.   Aggregate Functions Allows us to perform a calculation on a set of values to return a single value . We can use Group by Clause to group the result-set by one or more columns. Also we can use Having clause to restrict or filter the data as per our requirement. Note: Whenever we use Aggregate function in SQL we can’t able to use where condition. To restrict or filter the record we need to use having clause instead of Where. Below is the most commonly used Aggregate function in SQL.   MAX : Max function   used to get the maximum values in a set of values. COUNT : This function used to count rows in ...
